Today's Think Kit prompt challenged us take a poll. The topic was ours for the choosing. I asked people, via Facebook (of course), what their New Year's resolution would be for 2014. I didn't get an overwhelming response...a few people stated that they hadn't decided yet, one person said she was going to continue to work on stripping negativity from her life (I liked that one). One person stated he was going to start exercising more.
The reason I asked about resolutions is because I'm going to genuinely have to put some thought into mine this year. In the past, "Lose Weight", "Eat Healthy", "Exercise" have always been my old stand bys. I never actually thought about setting a resolution until December 31st...okay, January 2nd is more likely and because I didn't put much thought into its preparation, I didn't put a lot of thought into its execution either.
To choose a resolution that has to do with healthy living kind of feels like a cop out now. After making the decision to take control of my health once and for all and having Gastric Sleeve surgery in September, I know its something that I'm going to do. I don't have to resolve, aka solve the problem, because I already am actively solving it. I have this amazing tool that will help me lose weight. I'm already more than half way to my goal and its only been 11 weeks.
So, this year I'm going to spend some time putting thought and preparation into my resolutions. I'm going to select a few that I want to accomplish - maybe sticking to my budget (finally) and/or being a better girlfriend. I don't have to go with an old stand by anymore and I'm excited about that. I can think outside the box. I can attack my shortcomings and really set myself up to be successful resolutionist...yeah, I made that word up.
In 2014, I resolve to make and stick to New Year's resolutions.

Today's prompt: Take a poll and share the results. Is there something you've been curious about? A decision you're struggling with? Ask the crowd, and report back on what the results might mean.
Go Noelle! I think it's great that you're starting something new, even though it's not the traditional time to start. And good luck with your 2014 plans!
