Get up and give back

I'm a giving person...giving of myself to friends, giving of my time to causes I'm passionate about, etc. For the past year and into 2014, I've even devoting my spare time to serving as the president for the Indiana Junior Chamber. Jaycees are a group of young professionals committed to creating positive change in their communities. It's a fantastic organization striving to create sustainable change. /end shameless plug

So in 2014, I have set a goal. As I improve my physical health, I really want to run a 5K. Run the entire thing. Even if I only do it once. Even if all 3.1 miles are excruciating. I want to run one, just to say that I did it.

Therefore, I'm going to find a 5K that supports a worthy cause, train and raise money, and then run it.

So, if you have suggestions for your favorite 5K, please pass it along! I'm not tied to a particular cause, I just want to ensure I'm raising money for something that is making a positive impact within the Indianapils community.

  1. Noelle, you may recall in my first ThinkKit entry that I discussed my successful 5K runs.

I think my favorite was the Fright Night run, which took place around Halloween. It was through downtown and many of the runners wore costumes, which was an absolute blast.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Noelle,

I did this a few years ago and I started off with a 5k....This led to 2 other 5k's in a month span and then a 10k a few weeks later. I topped it all off with running the Mini Marathon in 2012. There are a ton of great runs out there, so my suggestion is to pick one on a date that work and make it happen!!!!
